Ms. Lori Leasure
I am a lifelong resident of Henderson County and daughter of Benny (former car dealer) and Janette (retired school teacher) Washburn. My husband, Danny (Bargerton School Principal) and I have 3 daughters; Hailey, Dallas, and Sydnie; a granddaughter, Marion; and a grandson, Israel.
After high school graduation I attended University of Memphis and participated in the marching band, The Mighty Sound of the South. I completed my undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree at Union University. Two other degrees followed: a Master of Education in Administration/Supervision from Trevecca Nazarene University and an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from Freed-Hardeman University. Both of these higher education pursuits have served as classroom supports and contacts throughout my diverse career experiences.
Beginning my career at Lexington High School, I taught English from 1992-2001. I left my Alma Mater for an assistant principal position at Scotts Hill High School. Serving in the position of assistant principal afforded me the opportunity to learn about school from an office perspective. The administrative knowledge that I gained at Scotts Hill also allowed me to serve as principal at Pin Oak Elementary School from 2007-2016. For the past 2 years, 2016-2018, I have worked in Chester County as Response to Intervention Coordinator.
I am proud and honored to serve as principal in the school and community of Clarksburg. I appreciate the outpouring of support I have received. Clarksburg feels like home already and I look forward to a great year.
